“There was once a group of students who were trying to learn from each other but who were stuck in their inability to see themselves in the other. But just when things were about to become irremediably splintered, the teacher said ‘let’s not abandon this difficulty, let’s stay in it, maybe through it we can generate a new shared identity, a new shared language.’

This machine comes out of the spirit of that moment.”
